Kingswood School, Bath

Case study

As a new Bursar to the School, I wanted to ascertain whether the school was getting value for money from our contractor, we also wanted to establish whether the present level of services and products for pupils could be improved using local suppliers in the area.

Following an exploratory meeting with consultants Balance Partnership we decided that an appropriate plan of action in the first instance would be for them to prepare a detailed overview of our current operation.

Following the Balance Partnership’s presentation of the report, it was evident that there was sufficient scope for the School to consider and review its policy, not only in the short term but more importantly in the longer term with regard to improving the service offer to its pupils, staff and visitors.

Client's Comments

Because of the level of detail and operational options that the Consultants report was able to provide for the School, it assisted us with our decision to move to an in-house operated facility, that in the first year has met not only our financial and operational expectations but has also developed a highly motivated and dedicated team. Another key factor was that the Balance Partnership also helped with the planning and preparation to ensure a smooth transition.
